ok guys i've been seeing different colors of hooks lately . i used to use Cannelle hooks or Mustad which were all silvery in colour. now i'm using Owner which are black . i;ve also seen red and gold colours . ( i have a packet of red owners but i really dont know the difference) can u guys tell me where the different colours are used ? ( maybe with different baits ???)

hi sergio

There are different hooks for different uses no 1 hook is good for everything lets start

Red hooks  These are to be used with dead or live bait eg Hniex (king rag worm) as the red hook will blend in with the bait and if it sticks out it will look like the baits blood.

Gold hooks  these are used for Kavalli (Mackarel) if you noticed they only come in 3-4 sizes

Black hooks  These are usually carbon hooks which are ideal for small fish as they are sharper then the silver ones but weeker

Silver hooks  these usually come in all shapes and sizes they have many uses some of which are specialized and others common

if you need more info just let me know
