Out this morning with my daughter's husband.  We managed to land about 4 dozen Lampjuki, various sizes, and we hooked so much more and they managed to get away.  Also released ton loads of small tunnag.

We also managed to do a good deed while out today.  We saw a sea turtle caught up in the FAD rope.  We approached it gently, lifted the whole thing onto the bathing platform, cut the rope that was twisted around one of the turtle's flippers, and released it back.  I have a few pics which I'll upload, and a short video of the release.  :)

here is the link to the video 'tortoise release'

@digger0579 - As I said, I was in the north.  You have to really run around, as Lampuki do not stick to one place.  It is a migratory species, and as such, it is all the time on the move.

Hi guys...seems that lampuki season is going to be poor yet once again. And the only few cimi which are full of them are quickly encircled by individuals with nets leaving nothing at all for the amateurs :/ I have been on the cimi tad dilettanti ta san pawl (I have a permission to fish on these fads) and they were completely empty. Later on I got to know by a fellow fisherman that these cimi where encircled earlier on that same day.
To catch a few I think one has to spend a whole day running about to try to locate some cimi which have not yet been encircled..
