I believe Geisha had to drop out on the East Coast of Sicily due to the heavy weather. The smaller lighter boats were suffering in that kind of weather. Aside from the general high winds, I read there was localised squalls with the wind going up even higher, water spouts forming etc.

Not nice at all, wouldn't have liked to have been out there.

Hey there fishermens! Hows it going??? Thanks for your kind thoughts during the Middle Sea Race. Wow what weather! Never really been out in anything like that before. We calculated max wnd speed of 70knots! This year I tried to challenge ourselves even more than usual by going as a 2 handed ( 2 Man) crew. Anyway I was accompanied by a top professional Americas Cup Sailor ( Chris Dougall) and felt confident that we could easily compete and do well. However the weather was really nasty once we got to the straits of Messina. We had some sail damage and decided to head for 'bars' before it got worse. Nothing like a nice day out fishing! Reels were on board so caught 2 x 10 and 12kg kubriti on the way back! Good experience. Hows the fishing ??? We had some good fun between Malta and Sicily recently.. Loads of Lampuki... The rixas with little wings have excellent results try them and good luck to all. GEISHA IS AVAILABLE SO CALL ANYTIME IF FREE TO COME FISHING 79497523

Good to have u back Dave. I am sure you would have done well. But these things happen as long as you come out of it without injury it builds experience. You can always recall those high winds and the gutt feeling something most of us would never get to know. Best of luck for next time. Oh and well done on the lampuki we experienced fisherman have had our boats on the hard for quite some time LOL.
