Hello Guys,

Between the 10 and 14th August we had arranged to do an Apnea Academy stages here in Malta. Who is interested just send me a pm or phone me on 99593775 or 79001831. All participants will require a medical statement of their physician,
which states that they are fit to participate in underwater activities. All sessions will be of a duration of 6hr.

5 mins static apnea is very good... those who want to achieve this result... do those co2 and O2 tables static everyday... they are killers... durability then is a factor...

then yoga polishes the skill in the water, particularly pranayama... guys its hard ... never though it was that hard...
Good season so far.....

The course was great!

Here is a small summary for those interested:

Day 1 :  8 hours of theory and breathing techniques with applied relaxation exercises.  This was quite tough and tiring as it was orientated on the physics of gases and explanation of the reasons for blackouts and how the different gases affect apnea.  Most of these things then explain why things happen in the sea and how if applied correctly can help in training and developing better resistance to low oxygen conditions.

Day 2: pool training  including static: We were instructed on the correct technique for static, how to resist and concentrate and relax to as he says "make an effort not to do an effort". We also did many exercises that can help us develop resistance to hypoxia (low oxygen to build stamina.  We also did high CO2 training which also helps to develop resistance.  Ask the guys who took part and we were exhausted after a few exercises !!!

Day 3 : Fun part:  we rook to the El Faroud to practice diving against a line with the correct finning technique, duck dive, buddy support and recovery of unconscious buddy.  As always utmost importance was given to safety.  We were surprised at what many things can go wrong and from his experience he could advise us a lot.  We were also surprised at how little we knew and how we were unable to think of correct ways of assisting a diver. Buddy to buddy diving can save lives if they know each other and especially their limits.

Day 4: whole day of static in the sea , finning exercises and grand finale the diving on the P29 that was fantastic and we all had fun diving and assisting each other and also filming  ;D

Remember never dive alone and never stretch your limits.....Dive safe  :D

Wow man.
Really interesting.
Thanks denci for the briefing. I do courses whenever I have the opportunity, but this was impossible for me to make. I will attend if any other as such will be made.

By the way denci, you disappointed me when I organised yoga sessions, and you did not turn up without any reason, you did not inform anyone, and this puts off (demotivates) people from organising something.

Edward really interesting  videos. Nice mate ;)

every one knows that i m in the water nearly every day, and dive with lots of guys. These events must be done much more often, and the attendance must be the one to encourage even the instructors to do it. As some may know I was waiting for an instructor in Malta for ages, and did nt done the course out of the country cos it needs lots of training mentally and physically. For me I could had paid and arranged the course to do it only for me but sharing the technique with other buddies it makes me feel better and even more safe while diving together. In fact diving with these new buddies makes me feel safe as like diving with my buddy and I know that he s always there for safety. The videos are there so one can see what we where trained for and Dulli (that was and meet us at Zurrieq) can confirm the fact. We go in open sea and cliffs in remote places where to get to the first contact need a minimum of 15 mins, so let start with us especially the new generation to introduce more safety at sea. Even the new people that are starting this sport need to do these kind of courses so that can start on the line and not get on the line.

By these two weeks there is the course held by AIDA, and today I meet Emma Farrell. She s really helpful and if need don't hesitate to contact her. If one can do even a single session with them then he will realize what I m talking about. Here in Malta we have lots of accidents with apnea that with some more awareness we can avoid it. These are really professional instructors that know how to handle any situation we even never think about them.

Last year we had 2 that lost their lives. Try not to be a number
