Hi,

I just found about this forum. My name is Claudio and i am from Mellieha. I started spearfishing seriously for the last two years.

I will try and post some photos of my catches tomorow and hope to make some new friends here.

One question.. i've noticed posts in maltese and english.. what's the policy here? I would prefer to post in maltese if it's possible hehe

As long as there is no foreigner posting in the thread, you can post in maltese but english is preferred.

Basically as Granitu said, you can post in Maltese, but English is preferred. Though I totally understand that many people prefer to write in their native language, Maltese, it does mean that any foreigners won't be able to follow the thread. There are a fair few, including myself, but then I get my gf to translate if need be!

But to put you in the picture, from 350 members we get around 4,000 visitors per month to the forum with a good percentage coming from the US and other European countries. So in Maltese, means search engines and others won't follow or index for most people's search criteria.

You will find some posts that break in and out of Maltese here and there, either way as the site administrator I won't restrict/enforce anything along these lines, but you might get other forum members asking if you could explain what you wrote, hehe!

Se ho capito bene, tu sei quello italiano. Ma he meglio se facciamo come skip ha detto e parliamo in inglese. In anzitutto benvenuto a malta.

I 've been spearfishing for the last years, but never took it seriously until a few months ago. Now I am doing my best, to get some nice pics as other members of this forum proudly show.

I think that you are the one that my friend freediver tolm me about, who met you occasionally. You are more that welcome to join us in this sport. The more we are the better. We do not fear any competition. We just like to meet up and take this as a sport, and lear from others. One of the main problems in this sport is that you must always practice with a buddy, and many times you do not find one.
So as said earlier, hope to meet one time or the other.
If you want, you can also join in a barbeque that is going to be organised by this forum. I do not know anyone personally but that's my aim for this barbeque. You an complete a kind of form in the main page of this forum.

hehe i'm sorry but I think you're mistaking me for someone else. i'm maltese (born and grown in mellieha). I hope you didn't think i'm italian because my english is that bad lol. Anyways thanks for the welcome. I think i have something else on the 18th for the bbq
