Ok Gaffer,What time will you be leaving the pontoon?
Fishing, fishing ,fishing thats all i think about.

Sometime around 3.00am Kev.  Then we inspect the other boats, and make our way together down to the Freeport area.  Best to stick together since we'll be heading down in the dark.

BTW, windfinder superforecast for Saturday is looking great.  Also checked meteo.it, and looks good too, with a max wind of F3 NW.

Transit time from Sliema shouldn't be more than 30 mins....? Even at 15 knots to play safe

I'm sleeping on the boat as well Kev.  We can meet on the pontoon, have a couple of beers, and then hit the sack

Moonwalker

I heared that someone from Gnejna caught some today so maybe they are coming back.
I was in the northeast yesterday trying bottom fishing but the sea seams dead there - just mud.
Saw some surface activity twice but could not say if they were alungi. Also saw a swordfish jumping high but then saw a longline flag near it so seems it got caught. Let out a rod for about an hour but no bites. Finally found a rocky patch and caught few fish.

I was out today first time for Alungi. We were 17 miles S/SW.
No Alungi, No Catch.  We never saw one this morning till 11am.

Too many boats fishing, but no one was catching.

Was disappointed for the first trip this morning, No Results

Frustrating.  Better luck next time.

Went out this morning, there were alot of boats in the area first thing and the conditions were excellent... but surprisingly no one seemed to be catching much. By the end of the morning we had only caught two, but both were fairly decent sized (around 9kgs).

Hi
for those leaving B Bugia in the morning i suggest that you do not pass between the fishfarm and the bouys cause sometimes there is a float with a loose rope hanging around. I noticed it a couple of times , maybe its not there anymore. Maybe shanook Ramio or those moored at B Bugia can confirm.

we always pass port to the buoys closer to the free port side. yes that rope is sometimes left hanging in mid water. Thanks for reminding, we do it naturally so we take it forgranted.

What VHF channel are we going to tune to for the competition?
Can't wait to go fishing
