Guys this re unien was meant to be even for presentation for the annual competitions heald every year. http://maltafishingforum.com/talk/index.php?topic=1105.0

For me doesn t metter what and where will gone a be but if it was summer would be nice to be only boys for a one but in christmas, we all join up so I look at it as must be the most one inportant event of this forum. On wednesday we meet and we really had fun even with some chat and there was 3 women with us and I belive that If we had said no women the three of them would not came for sure. Even Simon G from firsts meeting his gfriend was always present se we must have even respect for her.

Guys if you need to go out after, we can arrange and but I feel that this one must be all together

I think as Emicmalta said we must have it open for the partners this time. Its nice being all guys other times, but holiday spirit is different. It would be nice to see more of the partners about. They support us through out the year so let's have one in their honour...........maybe it will be our last one!!

Ohhhhhh finally some who understood.

I did not want to sound like (the asshole of the situation) in my posts, but I just wanted to point out that the most members would not join in without their lady, (as you can read in the beginning of this thread), and this is not nice during festivities. Would you leave out skip or simonG???? Bear in mind that the forum is managed by this guy, which involves a lot of time and money, whilst for us is free, (or just a small contribution).

I am sorry guys, but I will organise a gents night out.

Hope that you still decide to come and join in for this event.

For now its in your hands guys. I will be leaving soon, so take care of this organization.

Count me in. It does not make any difference if its with partners or not, but as emicmalta and ramio pointed out I think that partners should be considered to join this time especially since its during the festive season.

Guys and maybe girls (not sure if we have any female members), as things progress and the forum grows and we start doing more events/competitions we will definately need to create more structure. So far most things have been done on the fly so to speak, and for a Xmas get together I think it would be nice given the time of year to keep it mixed. However by mixed I mean forum members and their wives/partners/gf's rather than open to non members.

What is clear is that we need to organise a 'guys only' and by that we mean fishing only event where not only can we talk fishing all night but we don't need to worry if we've left our partner on their own for a while. I think it would be very beneficial to the forum and it's members to hold such an event early next year sometime mid-end January to discuss the 2009 season in general. If we can start to pencil in dates/themes for competitions and get togethers we can structure the year in a more efficient manner.

There are two ways of organising such an event calendar, either it's decided by a committee which for us would consist of the moderators and a few select members, or it's done in a more open manner where we listen to the opinion and idea's of all those present. I feel we cannot ignore the many active forum contributors who may have idea's they would like to express and doing those in person is usually alot more effective.

Emic you asked about dates for this Xmas meet, I was thinking somewhere between the 8th and 14th of December. Venue still to be decided but perhaps doing it somewhere central will be more appealing to those furhter afar.

ramio

The forum is getting bigger, and as you said Skip organising the activities would be a good idea. What I suggest is we open a topic and let all members suggest activities and dates, then the committe meets and coordinates all in a professional way.
Regarding the xmas activity, I agree that it should me open to members and their partners only.

I fully agree with your thoughts Skip.  We certainly need some structure to cater for the large number of members and also when it comes to organising activities/events.  Ramio's suggestion for a dedicated topic in this area sounds great.  That way, we can listen to what our members have to say, and that will enable us strike the right balance in terms of events/activities.  You mentioned the 8 to 14 December as slot dates for a Xmas meeting, the only good dates for me are the 10 and 11 December.

I would prefer some day near the weekend, so that I can enjoy my drink in peace, and also does my she. But as you agree guys, just let me know.

I have contacted a person, owner of Central Park, near Santana Hotel in Bugibba. He will be able to organise appetisers for us, if we will be a good group. Drinks are genuine guys. The owner's name is Ronnie, if someone would like to speak to him personally, just tell him that silvio already told you something. I try for the best of the forum members, you know I always found a good bargain.
