guys....... now that it is a bit early..lampuki are mostly caught from east.. south east... in a week or two...it will be mainly caught from the west side. Then from the east side you would be lucky if you get a cerviola. This is how I know it.... Once they hit the west coast... that's it. So its useless saying direction this and direction that. At the end of the day, Lampuki is so fast that they can move miles in a few hours. This is why when u hit a fad , most likely that the lampuki will move on to other waters. It is NOT because hey are afraid.. it is because they do not find their way back to the fad..or they find another fad.. or find a shoal of bait fish.

..and Placebo..the way I know from our old fisherman is that lampuki usually jump out of the water when they hear a boat closing by because they "jifirhu bina" .... hey are happy to see us... at least this is the word of old fisherman..

placebo

not always steve.

most of the times you notice them jumping out of the water and see activity around the FAds but other times it is so quite and you also start getting bites.

the fishing gods might have something for me tomorrow I'll be fishing

Today we headed out on hurdsbunk, when we arrived there we saw around 40 boats going crazy around the fads.We headed out of the tuna fishfarms which had about 30 more boats going round them.We couldn's see any fads out ther and then headed NE.As we went along we saw a lot of action of tunnies on feeding frenzy. We managed to find a line of fads of about 10.There was no sign of lampuki there but we managed to catch a dozen of tunnies whic we released. Then we went for a swim near portomaso and went back in.At least we enjoyed the day,the crew were fantastic...imnalla kien il mundinu!!!

To all who go fishing for lampuki by sea, please be carefull mostly near blata tal-melh (bahrija), to any sings of long lines for lampuki which can be visible by a red flag folowed by coloured balons.

Today there were 2 or 3 driving a white dingi, when they saw the long line they slowed down and after a few sec they speed through it cutting it in half. They did not take any care and kept on going. it was for sure not done by mistake!!!

Please be carefull evrey one have to have fun fishing!!

Thank you

.....Be carefull,  I know most people that go there and there are some who wont hesitate to shoot at the boat so when you pass from that area just keep your watch.

it s not good to use them but when they do these things them make you feel like to really empty the gun on the rib. Pitty that we are not anymore in the western

Having mono and nylon stuck into the propeller is not a nice thing, you will be asking for trouble. Definetly the nylon will tear all seals causing salt water to get in the lower unit and gear oil will seep out. So whoever did that he will be lucky if he made it back home.

more they have to be more carfull because when hunting season opens, there are a lot of hunters that go fishing and tkae their gun it them, end its not a nice thing to hear lead whjistling by your boat even if you are far out there is a method where lead still reaches you in high speeed!!!

If he did it not by mistake than he deserves it! because everyone goes out to have fun and catch a fish so we should respect eachother.
the guys with the imrejkba only use the coastline for fishing, the guys with the boats have the whole ocean to fish....

KevingG the lead will be hot so ribs will still be punctured, and yes the majority all carry their shotguns.
