Guys!
This is one of my best Alungi/Tuna/Pastardella lures.  I've had it for 8 years now, and the battles I've had have now taken a beating on this lure.  Notice the skirt on the lure.  Does anyone know where I can buy this lure either in Malta or over the internet?
Thanks,
Joe

Maybe the brand name will help !! Try asking the one you bought it from.  I have a similar one by Williamson.

Chris,

It is a williamson lure.  I bought it 8 years ago from a tackle shop in Kalkara.  Went by the other day to the shop, but they didn't have them.  Where do you buy yours from.
P.S. If you have a similar lure, you're garuanteed alungi this season.  Swim that lure from the middle of the boat, set the distance between 40-60mtres away from the stern....bomba!!!.....I had nicknamed my lure the king!!

Try Mister Fish and Fishing World in Naxxar, both have very nice suqid lures.

Nice set of lures you've got there Keith. Do you know what mono they are rigged up with 130lbs, 150, 200lbs etc?

My only advice would be to change the std mono to fluorocarbon to increase the strike rate depending how long the leader is. All my lures I bought came pre-rigged with 150 or 200lbs mono and we noticed that due to the clear water, we weren't getting the ratio of strikes that other's were experiencing. As soon as we tested and re-rigged one to fluorocarbon it all changed.

i30lbs mono, 8/0 hook, 80lbs swivel. approx 2m leader.

Man u rig way to heavy for alungi......

shanook

gaffer how about u buy a skirt and feathers and redress ur lure. That is if the head is still ok. If the head has faded and is scratched badly then buy new.

Keith I would definately change to 130lbs (if you want to keep same rating) Blackwater Fluorocarbon as it has some built in stretch (shock) unlike most fluoro which doesn't. Fin has the crimp set so it shouldn't be a problem to re-rig as is if you're interested.
