Hi everybody! I joined the forum a couple of weeks ago and find it realy useful, excellent stuff. I'm going to visit Malta next month and will be staying in the Paceville/Saint Julians area. I'm looking forward to spending some time trying my luck fishing from the shore, mostly spinning but not only. Any tips regarding the area, "do's and don'ts", preffered rod configuration, any places specifically worth checking out, what to expect ?

Hi Darnok, welcome to the forum. Check out the Shore Fishing - General and Shore Fishing - Spinning Boards, you should find some useful info.

I know the General board has a few posts on good places to go etc.

Hopefully I will find the time to put this kind of initial info up on the main website for people coming from overseas wanting to fish in Malta, to help them along.

My names Darren, i currently skipper a fishing vessel out of uk waters.  My home is in Spain.  I am looking for employment in the tuna industry out of Malta.  I have lost the mail address and phone number of an owner called joe o,connell if anyone can pass my mail onto hm that would be great.  Great forum

Thanks for your welcome Skip,
Joe used to own fishing trawlers in the UK.  Now he has a couple of tuna boats fishing out of Malta somewhere, if you could mention it to others for me that would be great.  The industry in UK is getting tougher i have crews that do not speak English and have no expereince its dangerous really.  Any help you can give would be much appreciated, twenty years of fishing  a spell working in the sunshine would be great.
