As Tournament Director I wish to congratulate all the winners of this Tournament and all the participants.
Your massive participation and exemplary discipline rendered one big winner, the Oris National Big Game Fishing Tournament.

As secretary of the Federazzjoni Sajjieda Dilettanti Malta I wish to thank the Clubs that participated in the organization of the Tournament and their members that actively took part in the Tournament itself.
All three first prize winners and another three in the top ten are members of the Federation Clubs.

Thanks to all wishing you a prosperous fishing season.

this was posted by a friend of mine on my wall in facebook. "Shawn Aquilina
PRAYER CHAIN NEEDED.. PRAYERS NEEDED TO GO OUT FOR FB FRIEND AUDRIA KING AND HER FAMILY. HER TWO YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS JUST DIAGNOSED WITH STAGE 4 CANCER.. IF YOU SEE THIS POST, EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW HER, GOD KNOWS HER... PLEASE POST THIS TO YOUR PROFILE FOR ONE HOUR AND SAY A PRAYER FOR THIS LITTLE GIRL, and all others with cancer... THE POWER OF PRAYER SPEAKS VOLUMES...PLEASE REPOST"This proves how valuable this competition was. Those that have helped in anyway should be very proud indeed!

SEAFOX

Prosit Silvio -26th x 1 fish out of 80 is excellant. You made such a hit that even Skip had to point this out..insomma, a few more lessons and you will beat the Farfett..oh, how many of my lures did you lose to land this 7 kg "beast"?

@ Caldaland - Yes we do have to pray hard to ensure that this little girl recovers from cancer, its very sad to read your post.  When Gaffer and I saw some of these unfortunate children at the Rainbow Ward way back in February we just had to get the magazine/event going in a big scale, with the help of Antoine (AD) and many others we just wanted to fill our kitty to the brim.

To everybody involved in the Tournament... thanks for your wonderful & valuable support, be proud as Caldaland states in having taken part.
We knew its not easy to participate in such an activity due to the expenses involved but you did it in a big way, rest assured that the "Man" up there wont forget your good deeds.
We trust that a good part of the funds collected would go towards the expenses involved in treating little Audria King.

Amen to that Seafox............to all others I say remember who supported this just cause as the competition was an excuse to raise monies to those in need.

The_Gaffer

yes, I fully agree with Caldaland.  We should all be proud.  Each and everyone who contributed in his own way, the organisers, the helpers, the support teams, and the participants.  Even the authorities who extended their cooperation and support contributed to this success story.

Now we wil lstart planning the awards ceremony, which will be held in the same place as we did the pre tournament briefing.  most probably it will be a mid-week event, but we'll let you all know soon enough.

I also see most of the winners as members of the Malta Fishing Forum :P

Yes it seems we have members of the MFF as members of the other clubs as well. I guess it all depends on which club they chose to represent on their application forms.

The_Gaffer

Skip - my comment above was meant at pulling Gogo's leg!.  But yes, there are alot of MFF members who are also club members as well.

:) lol actually i was trying to figure out how we sort the winners of the little MFF competition we had, because I saw some forms of active forum guys who are also members of say the Bugibba club etc

The_Gaffer

If we can work out how many actual MFF members participated, irrispective of whether they are members in other clubs, then we can figure out a plan.  My suggestion is to give something to all, especially the crew members.  there is enough for everyone I think.  That way, with the MFF, everyone is a winner.
